Aleyah, as you know my job didn't give me a choice on vaccination at first. A year later the court stopped the mandate, but it left in its wake thousands of people in limbo. Many soldiers opted out of service and forfeited retirement benefits. Had the mandate been stopped sooner, these people would still be following their dream to serve. We can all debate the things you discussed, but I don't want people to forget the people who chose a vax or being jobless, and some who gave up dreams for principle. All around, COVID-19 destroyed lives on both sides of the debate. Great job!

Yes - I'd heard that was your situation. It was almost my situation with my employer as well. I truly believe that if it wasn't for the SCOTUS decision, I'd have been jobless at the beginning of the year. Additionally, you're spot on about all this killing people's dreams. I graduated last year with the goal of becoming a teacher once we moved to CO. After seeing how relentless Newsom was in his push for school personnel to take the shots and observing the CO governor, Polis, make some comparable moves, I've discontinued looking into teaching as a career.

I, too, hope we never forget this tragic and dark time in history. People should never be put in situations like this - especially when the "solution" being pushed for has potentially nasty side effects. I'm glad you've been well after your round of shots, though.
